Sci-Fi Anthology Recommendations

Javi O says:

Good vid. Many times, it’s hard to know where to start with these Anthologies. There are so many out there and it’s impossible to read everything. But this vid provides a good starting point. I would like to add the book “SFWA Grand Masters Volume 1” to the list.. edited by Frederik Pohl… I actually bought that Science Fiction Hall of Fame Anthology Volume 1 because of a previous vid of yours.. take care!

I liked this video. I was wondering whether you could get into exploring the various labels you are using — “style”, how it shows itself, with examples perhaps, or summaries of style-oriented stories; and “classic sci fi.”
My own taste in sci fi is somewhat for what I consider classic — almost anything by Heinlein, the Azimov foundation trilogy, the Arthur C. Clarke classics, and my favorite author: A.E. van Vogt, in the rather few novels of his that are classics (Slan, Space Beagle, World of Null-A, Players of Null-A, Universe Maker); also John Wyndham, John Christopher, and Ursula K. LeGuin in her early works (Rocannon’s World, Lathe of Heaven, Left Hand of Darkness).
Exploring and defining the various aspects and categories would be very enjoyable.

Many thanks for these recommendations! So helpful. I’ll keep an eye out next time I’m at the second hand book shop for some of these.
