Long time followers will be aghast / thrilled (delete as appropriate) at the idea of Eisel finding a book he could actually recommend.

I read a statistic claiming Spain deported half a million indigenous people from Nicaragua, and just coincidentally west Nicaragua had the highest indigenous death rate of Spain’s conquest of 99.%.
The mass-state sponsored-extermination of indigenous peoples in California has been well documented in numerous books like “American Genocide by Benjamin Madley, Murder State by Brendan Lindsay, and Exterminate Them! by Clifford Trafzer. The worst of these massacres is probably the Round Vally against the Yuki in which tribes where hunted by literal death squads like Eel River Ranger.
The genocide of Yaquis by enslavement in the early 20th century is another lesser known and more recent case of Native genocide involving enslavement. Paco Taibo II has a book on the subject called Yaquis A People’s War and a Genocide in Mexico.
