The issue with this is bias. Reading any of these “ponderies of mad men”. Is just that. You are reading other men’s theories. Other men’s definitions. History, culture, religion. and a basic understanding of law and legislation is all one really needs to do to really know about politics (perhaps I don’t know others views as political debate has been what most of my life revolves around, or perhaps I’m not as smart as I think I am)

politics is all about how to best forcibly control a people’s in a way that makes them feel most free and using any excuse to receive more power, be it from god, for your people, to change human nature etc. After that premise is understood one need only boil down how each group intends to free/control the people’s and weigh your benefits versus the detriments. All political systems are beautiful on paper and garbage in action. Every system also has its own place.

Cults of personality are needed for drastic reformation, but usually ends in blood (monarchy/imperialism)

Democracy is needed for slow, degrading reformation and enlightenment that ends in blood by a cult of personality or socialist revolution.

Socialism is needed for the lowest common denominator. The lowest of the low. Lands and people’s who cannot even properly cycle crops and need the government to do it for them. A completely trashed economy from a depression. Socialism however always ends by a cult of personality.

And libertarian/communist society. This is really just a pipe dream of extremist socialism/democracy that are unable to ever be truly achieved. The markets will never be completely free, and nobody will ever destroy the caste system. There will always be elites and grunts. There will always be a government power.

Government is a pendulum, like most things. I can’t wait to see who next crosses the Rubicon to become Caesar.

Wow! I wasn’t expecting to see Foucault’s Pendulum at 9:24. I’ve heard it referred to as “the intelligent man’s Davinci Code”. I already have this book, along with Eco’s “The Name of the Rose” neither of which I’ve read yet, but that I have always intended to read at some point.

McAvoy says:

Sorry, I apologise for my previous flippant remark. Thanks very much for putting together this list and I admire the admission that you have not (yet) studied the complete collection. I have read some of the texts but you mentioning others inspires me to reach for them. I really like your approach, the hysterical, ego driven bloodletting seen recently on other channels is getting very tiresome.

The book of leadership and strategy. Essential readings

Xenophon says:

Very Indo-European says:

Be sure to get the Ford translation of Mein Kampf.

For Kaczynski I would recommend Technological Slavery instead. Its a book with a lot more content and it also includes a better version of ISAIF.

Marcus Aurelius says:

This is a great list, I would add Sun Tzu’s Art of War, Aristotle’s Politics, Evola’s Revolt Against the Modern World and A Handbook for Right-Wing Youth, and Nietzsche’s Beyond Good and Evil.

I didn’t think much of Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago, in fact I stopped reading after about 150 pages in, it just seemed incredulous. But his Two Hundred Years Together is excellent. Oh, and maybe add some Shakespeare, there is truly cutting political philosophy in his plays.

The Widow's Son says:

If it ain’t Locke, out of stock. No Rousseau? Off I go. That’s my philosophy. #Liberalist

McAvoy says:

No Loki? Fail!!

MUH Geschichte says:

Great list, Mimir

Russel Brand says:

Hey man, I have to thank you for getting me back into reading again. Its been like, 5 years since I stopped reading seriously (for some retarded reason). Anyways, I’ve noticed my reading skills have been gimped from my lack of reading. Have you run into this before or would you recommend I tough it out and keep going at it? (I usually read 20 pages or more a day but I keep having to re-read paragraphs over and over.)

MrFredstt says:

Everyone should read Locke and only Locke. That’s the true key to knowledge

James Edward says:

Great Info. Thanks. Your a smart guy. Keep up the good work. We need more men like you. Hail Victory!!
