I will never hate a main character more than i ever hated Juliette from shatter me
OMG THE DIALECT THING. Also most of the time it’s like “they use these three very specific words IT’S A DIALECT NOW/THIS IS HOW PEOPLE WILL SPEAK IN ~THE FUTURE~”
As soon as you mentioned the trope of changing the way characters speak I was like, “MAZE RUNNER” and then you said Maze Runner and I was delighted. YES. I hate that so much.
Ugh, that dialect thing sounds annoying. Generally speaking I love it when authors have some characters speaking in a certain dialect. Only if its accurate though, cant tell you how irritating it is to see people try and fail to write a Northern/North Eastern English accent and dialect when you are actually Northern, haha! If done well it can really enhance a character, but it definitely shouldn’t be in the description ect. Should really only be in the dialogue, because that’s the only place it actually matters.
Gripe! Gripe! Gripe!
Oh, don’t mind me, I just felt it appropriate to chant out my excitement.
Heehee so this is like a Gripe appetizer! And since I have no need to avoid spoilers, on to the main course!
