Tons of great recommendations ! Except maybe To Kill A Kingdom, strangely I didn’t enjoy it haha. I didn’t like how every single line of every single character needed to be witty/sarcastic/”funny” (something I sadly often see in YA), after a while I just found it annoying. And the pacing was weird like even after more than half of the book they were still planning and preparing their big quest, I was so bored I didn’t even get to the fun part ! But who knows maybe I’ll give it another shot
“kicking ass and taking names”
I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE
You haven’t seen ‘The Astonishing Color Of After’ on booktube much because I think it is not available everywhere like it isn’t in Pakistan.
I FINALLY just listened to Daughter of the Pirate King on audiobook and loved it much more than I thought I would! I don’t even know why I had low expectations for it, but I ended up loving the characters so much.
I think you’re spot on that a big part of what makes this book so great is that the romance is genuine, but without taking over the whole book. I love a good romance, but when it becomes the main thing that the protagonist cares about and everything else going on in the world of the story becomes a subplot, then the romance can start to feel forced. And at that point I don’t even care about it anymore.
But in Daughter of the Pirate King, the romance is very well written and Alosa constantly demonstrates that she prioritizes the well-being of her crew over her own feelings. I love that she gradually starts to open up to those feelings, especially in the sequel, but romance is definitely not her number one, all-consuming goal. I think that’s what makes the romance in this story so appealing.
I couldn’t finish the Nightingale because I wasn’t connecting with the characters at all… I’m glad you loved that though, maybe I’ll pick it up again another time
I crave to kill a kingdom I thought it was so good
I was on the fence about My Plain Jane, but you’ve convinced me!
I’m loving your new hair color!
okay but how did you get past the incest storyline in the thousandth floor
Great video
honey, you look so tired:(❤️ i hope everything is fine and you are having a nice day❤️
The Thousandth Floor was sooo bad lol. I wouldn’t call it sci-fi. Maybe technically, but more specifically it’s just futuristic. The focus is just on teenage melodrama though.
thank you for recommending the astonishing color of after. Its almost the year anniversary of losing my two friends to suicide and i needed to read that book.
I actually just finished The Nightingale yesterday. Love.
you look so cute with dark hair!!!! omg
I’m glad that I’ve at least already read 1 of these books so I won’t be quite that poor when I add 9 instead of 10 books to the cart
This hair color looks amazing on you!
I really like your videos, but they are always soooo long
I am just about to start My Plain Jane! I really hope I like it. I haven’t read Jane Eyre, but I have seen the movie, so I am really familiar with the story. Does anyone think that you really should read Eyre first before reading this???
YES! I read The Nightingale this month and really enjoyed it. I sat in bed and sobbed for like an hour after finishing it hahahahaha.
Okay, but your hair is son on point! Love it!
The nightingale is my favorite book of all time, I don’t love any book as much as I loved the nightingale
I’m disappointed Alice in Wonderland isn’t here…
Haha Augustus and oblivion
wow so many new books for my tbr!
The thousandth floor is so good!!! The third one just came out and I can’t wait to read it ☺️
i love your hair !!!
Omg your hair is AMAZING AHHH

Okay but if you wrote a love story about you and Jackson I would read the shit out of it.
The Astonishing Color of After is definitely on the top of my list.
To Kill A Kingdom sounds so good
Off topic but omg that camera quality! Damnnn
After I read the astonishing colour of after I was looking everywhere for a booktalk but I could not find one and I was so shocked
Why don’t more booktubers do this kind of video? I absolutely loved The Astonishing Colour of After and I can’t wait to read more off your list
I read “the nightingale” and it is my favorite book ever 10 out of 5 stars loved it.
I hope I’ll enjoy The Thousandth Floor! I have heard so many mixed things but the concept sounds really cool
I want to read Always Never Yours so bad! I’ve seen it on Goodreads and it sounds like something I would really enjoy!
Dark hair looks great on you!
