“Elon Musk” (NY Times Best Seller) by Ashlee Vance – BOOK SUMMARY

Elon Musk… Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future is an in-depth, extensively-researched, and balanced biography by Ashlee Vance, a well-known business and technology columnist who has written for the Economist, BusinessWeek, and the New York Times. — Sign up to receive free weekly video book summaries at http://www.bookvideoclub.com —

Described as the Thomas Edison or the Iron Man of our times, Musk is painted as an eccentric industrialist – both inventor and business man – with insanely big vision, the impressive capacity to deal with stress, and the often jarring but necessary capability to squeeze the most out of his people.

To put the Musk oddity in context, after the Silicon Valley implosion in the turn of the millennium, entrepreneurs and investors started playing it safe, often working on incremental improvements, whereas Musk never gave up on his leap-forward visions. To the point that those closest to him were following him around to make sure he wasn’t actually going insane.

What a nice channel. I saw this video because of my love towards Elon musk, but found your channel very useful. One new subscriber.

I love reading and have focused a lot of my time this year on devouring non-fiction books such as the one you just animated. Your approach towards learning through excellent scripting, professional voice-overs and awesome drawing skills is a useful service for many people.

While watching this video, I got an idea for you guys that might work down the road.

As you further develop your channel and get more video books under your belt, you can use the designs and put them together in a summary book and sell them through Amazon and other bookstores. This option would be awesome for polymaths and people that love learning because the book would would work as a trigger for so much knowledge!

I’d buy one for sure.

does anyone know the background music or similar tracks?

What is the name of the background tune?

Guy Montag says:

“he secured a big government contract”… Frankly, how can we talk about entrepreneurship when you rely on government relief?
which does not take away his accomplishment with Paypal

Lifelonglearning says:

Your animations are really cool! Good summary too!

Will D says:

BUT! How does PayPal fit into his ambitions concerning oil dependency and being a multi-planetary species?

Eudaimonia says:

Good to see somebody else has reviewed Ashlee’s book on Elon Musk too. I enjoyed your analysis of the book, it’s a great read.

JasonMcGarva says:

I’ve watched a few of your videos now. They’re nice, but one change I’d suggest is to improve your timing. In the video you’ll say something and then we have to wait 3-4 seconds for the animator to draw it out. There’s a feeling of lagging behind and “get on with it”. Most animated white board videos I’ve seen keep in time with the speaker, not behind the speaker. Just a suggestion to make your already-good videos even better.

Viewers must visit this unique and remarkable site, “fetching lobon only” (Google it). What I love about this website is that it provides lots of books that fit your reading needs.
