Mehethab Sulthaana says:

My favourite would be Thinking fast and slow by David Kanheman.

Stephen Thayer says:

Great recommendations. I really like
Talking to Crazy: How to Deal with the Irrational and Impossible People in Your Life by Mark Goulston
Mistakes Were Made (but Not by Me): Why We Justify Foolish Beliefs, Bad Decisions, and Hurtful Acts by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson
The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday

Love your channel. Keep up the good work.

Darcy Murray says:

Maps of meaning

Zamir Chandler says:

Great video only read the Righteous Mind. Thinking about Switch as a new read haven’t touched psychology in about a month.

Jeannine Vegh says:

Emotional Intelligence by Dr. Daniel Goleman and The Doctor and the Soul by Viktor Frankl really moved me. I think Insider’s Guide to Graduate Programs in Clinical and Counseling Psychology is great for someone ready to go in this direction.

suuujuuus says:

I really like panzram and man’s search for meaning

Bob Jones says:

“Mostly white male psychology” tee hee. Silly.

TPT100 says:

Perhaps a little late to the party, but I’m 26 pages into The Invisible Gorilla: How our Intuitions Deceive Us, and I’m loving it

Ahmed Yasir says:

Loving “Redirect” by Timothy Wilson right now

Clint Sevilla says:

Can you recommend heavier reads.

Kathy W. says:

As a grad student on summer break, many thanks for these recommendations! Going to try and read these in between working on my dissertation and internship essays! Adding to the conversation – this is a bit more of an ‘already in the field but good to read’ book – Yalom’s The Gift of Therapy. Super helpful to read as a prac student this year.

Jesualdo Murillo says:

What are some good therapy books that you recommend? By the way, I love your videos.

N62MajorBlast says:

Hi! Would you have any good child psychology books you would recommend? Thank you! :)

Mahfuz Shaon says:

I really needed this :) thank you

The Psych Show says:

What are your favorite psychology books?

LUSCID [your user-friendly guide to Science] says:

I would highly recommend Thinking: Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman! It’s a great book about human irrationality – about the unconscious errors in our thinking (the so called cognitive biases) that we all make all the time. It’s a “must read” for everyone who wants to have a better understanding of how the mind works :)

Veggie Ready says:

Which order is recomended to read these in?

Neurokin says:

Phantoms in the Brain has been one of my favorites since I read it during my cognitive neuroscience course a few years ago! A book that I would recommend that is not in the video is Coercion and Its Fallout by Murray Sidman. It discusses the destructive effects (i.e., the fallout) of coercion (i.e., punishments and threats of punishment). It was recommended to me by one of my professors while we were discussing the Skinnerian ideal of behavior modification through positive reinforcement methods.

Plus a.s says:

Which one simple English to read…

Mark Jackson says:

Dan Gilbert’s “Stumbling on Happiness” is a fantastic read. I would also highly recommend Richard Smith’s book about schadenfreude called “The Joy of Pain.” (Disclaimer: Richard was my graduate adviser.)

GetPsyched says:

A brilliant video! As a counselling psychologist in training, I would have to put anything from Irvin Yalom. Especially Loves Executioner. Has to be my favourite.

vakare satkauskaite says:

U look like the guy from treat yo self meme

capsfox says:

Great! I haven’t read any of these, but I’m going to get them all. ^_^

I like Proust and the Squid by Maryanne Wolf. It’s a good look at how we read things. It’s way more complex than you’d think.

Leslie Parker says:

I really like Growth Mindset by Carol Dweck.

prs 7864 says:

Thanks…. good list for book lovers!

Wesley Lavinder says:

Awesome. Always love finding out about new psychology books. Thanks for this episode! :)

Is I original says:
